1. Domenic's formula for success is simple: find a good product that people want to buy, sell it at an affordable price and provide that very best customer service.
2. Anna and I didn't draw a wage for nearly seven years. This is the type of sacrifice that you have to make when starting any new business. In the early days, things are always hard, but they definitely get better. Many times, we had to pay the staff using my credit card and we had nearly fifteen people all crammed into a tiny Richmond single-story terrace house! It was truly a sight to see. But is also make us work together as a team.
3. The lesson I learnt here is to look carefully at where you spend your money, if you can't see a return on your investment, don't do it.
My second major mistake was in the hiring of staff. 'Hire slow and fire fast'
4. Whenever any team member achieves something notable... They are encouraged to 'Bang the going' lounly.
5. In your experience, is there a right or wrong time to diversify your business?
a. Every business has a basic core function; get that right before you march off in new directions.
b. The more successful you are, the more attention you get, and with this new attention comes distractions. You need to learn to say 'no'. That's very hard for an entrepreneur, let me tell you, because we are by nature attracted to new ideas.
c. But, when you are building a new business, a lack of clear focus can be the death of your business.
6. Since you are already a successful entrepreneur, why did you choose to further your tertiary education?
a. "If you know what you don't know, you are okay. But if you don't know what you don't know, you'll be in trouble". I think knowledge is something you can never have too much of, and that's why I chose to expand mine.
7.How would you describe your business philosophy or approach to running a company?
"I have an open and honest philosophy", the truth sometimes hurts, but in the end it will see you through when the going gets tough.
8. What are some of your top tips for becoming a great entrepreneur?

Notes of reading "secrets of male entrepreneurs" ----Jim Penman
1. Have there even been times when you wanted to give up? What got you through?
a. "I was cold and hungry, night was drawing on, a special evening that I had planned was ruined and I was now facing a bill to replace the clutch, which I couldn't afford. I had worked and worked, early till late, but nothing I did seemed good enough, I felt like I was never going to get out and get ahead. At that moment, I lost all hope and gave up".
b. When the spirit fails, sometimes habit can step in. I had a saying from my earliest mowing days, 'Put one foot in front of the other'. No matter how bad you feel, keep on taking the next small step, and then the next small step, and eventually the job gets done.
2. And it's not difficult to find the right type of new franchisee when you have current franchisees willing to tell anyone how well they were treated and how much support they received.
3. What is the biggest mistake you've ever made in business and what did you learn from it?
"I ignored the business principle of sticking to what you know. I learnt to stick with the business that I knew and to save my money for more certain investments"
4. In the long run, putting people before profit was helping me to build the largest lawn-mowing business in the world, but at the time I did it purely because it was the right thing to do.
"Great people are the foundation of any successful business. Looking at profit and cost control is vital, but you do it with the key principles in mind"

Notes of reading "secrets of male entrepreneurs" ---- Brad Sugars
1. People need to learn to ask questions. Books are probably my highest recommendation. I believe you should visit a bookstore every week, something will always jump out at you, so read it
2. The major benefits of having your own business
a. It's the only vehicle to create serious cash flow. Comparing share market, real estate, business, provided that you have a strong desire and some street smarts, is possible to create an asset which produces ten to fifteen thousand per month in cash flow, in a year or two.
b. With your own business, you are in the driver's seat. And you are working every day to make yourself rich, rather than to make the boss rich.
c. Business give you the ability to buy back your most valuable asset: time.
d. A little bit of knowledge in business goes a long way.
e. You get all of the tax benefits that business ownership brings.
f. Most importantly, it should be fun to yourself.
3. Understand that business isn't about working hard, it's about employing people who work hard for you.
My definition of a real business is a 'commercial, profitable enterprise that works without me'.
4. Why do you think so many small businesses fail in this country?
a. put plainly and simply, it's lack of knowledge. Just because you're a good hairdresser, accountant or florist doesn't mean that you have any idea about how to run a business that does or sells those things.
b. the other most common mistake that new business owners make is starting a business from scratch doing the work they know how to do. The salary you can pay yourself is important, but ultimately you've got to remember that you're building a business with one purpuse only -- that's, to eventually sell it or leverage yourself out of it while the profit still comes in.
5. The essential characteristics of a successful entrepreneur?
a. They have to have the confidence to take a leap into the world of risk in order to achieve their dreams.
b. The great idea. The great idea doesn't have to be a great product or services, just a great way to deliver it. You could be selling black socks, you just need to do it better and in a different way to everyone else. Differentiation is the key to a successful business because people take notice when things are done in a unique way to what the rest of the market is currently doing.
c. The great people. This is by far the most important ingredient. A great jockey can get an average horse to win, but an average jockey can stop even a great horse from having any chance of success. The people you surround yourself with a reflection of the amount of success you will have.
d. A little bit of money. If you can't run at a profit from day one, then things are going to be tough later on. The only reason you should need extra capital is for fast expansion. So make informed decissions and borrow from people who you trust, if need be.
6. What do you think holds people back from becoming successful entrepreneurs?
a. I think that what holds people back is Fear, Lack of desire and Lack of knowledge.
b. The best time to begin is today. The longer you wait the harder it will get -- not because it's too late but because you're too safe in your old ways and you feel confortable. Only your lack of knowledge holds you back, so start learning.
7. How can aspiring entrepreneurs learn to become better at sales?
a. I became a great marketer through understanding, testing and measuring.
b. Marketing is about buying clients for the cheapest possible price and then working with them to get them buying more from you over a long period of time.
c. You can become better at sales and marketing in the same way that you learn anything--find someone who's better at it than you and copy them. That could be from a book, a seminar, a colleague, or wherever.
d. Always remember that sales is a numbers game, the more numbers you do, the more customers that buy.
e. Remember, business is about making money, not making products or services, and the only way we make money is by selling something.
8. What are your top tips for becoming a great entrepreneur?
a. Your jobs should be an apprenticeship for having your own business
b. Knowledge growth equals profit growth
c. You must have a good business coach
d. Do the work once and get paid for it forever; that's leverage
e. Work harder, faster and longer than anyone else you know, do more, be more and make bigger opportunities for yourself. In other words, bite off more than you can chew and chew like crazy.
f. Test and measure everything. You can't manage what you do not measure. When you measure things, make sure you have certain quality control levers in order to accurately see if you are staying on track.
9. Successful businesses are about more than just the product or service, in fact could almost say that it doesn't matter what you're selling, it's the business model that's important
10. To Brad, business is for cash flow, and property is purely for capital growth. Brad's belief is that you must start off with business to be able to invest in other asset classes.

Effective expression in love
Today I SMS two messages to QQ to express my feelings, which made her happy.
Sometime (especially in the days without many fresh events happening),I think, we really need express ourselves just directly to let us know we actually love each other.
Sometime (especially in the days without many fresh events happening),I think, we really need express ourselves just directly to let us know we actually love each other.
The biggest lessons learned from talking with Rick Cheung
After work, we started a topic about how to make a good/an effective conversation or discussion. Rick kindly pointed out a few mistakes that I ususally made based on his experiences, which are just so right that I can't help writing them down here to constantly remind myself in the future.
They are exactly those things what I have to change before I can achieve my goals. So firstly I need the 100% determination to change them, then I need interrupt myself if fall down to the trap again, finally I should create the new habit/link in conversation.
1. I should speak slowly, otherwise I have no time to think and organise what am I saying, and people have no chances to take part in.
2. I should watch others' portrait to make sure if they are listening to me or they've lost any interest in my talking, and take the appropriate means to adjust myself in how to talk and what to talk.
3. I should head to the object/target directly, instead of too much nonsense, it would confuse people and make them lose interest. Answer the important issues straightway and simply.
4. Let people talk and express their interest, instead of talking what I'm thinking is it important.
5. Confirm that people have understood each point that I've expressed, and then I can continue, otherwise I need stop there and find out the reasons first.

Success Diary (Day 2)
1. We need learn how to control the two root sources of living motivation: pain and happiness.
2. Usually, people prefer "avoiding the pain to do a thing" to "getting the happiness to do a thing". It's normal and just a human nature.
3. Using the feeling of 'pain' and 'happiness', a lot of successful Ads come out like City Bank. Actually, we can use this point to sell anything else as well.
4. Most of successful people experienced plenty of pain before they got success.
5. Learning how to "Transfer your focus" is the only way we can use to control the sources of living motivation. From the happiness of not doing to the pain of not doing it. Or from the pain of doing to the happiness of doing a thing.
6. If you have no money, it's because you link too much pain with making money.
7. If you changed the linking relationships with pain or happiness of doing a thing, then you had changed your attitude of doing that thing, then you had successfully controled your living motivations.
8. Keep asking yourself that "if you don't do a thing, what kind of pain you would get, how much cost you would pay in every aspects of your life, such as living, finance, love, family, working etc"
9. The reason why we need set goals is because if we don't achieve them, we would got a lot of pain.
Exercises:
A. Write down all the things that you should do but haven't done yet.
B. From those things listed above, to achieve your goal, pick four of them which need be done right down and do them.
C: To achieve your goal, write down 4 piece of things that you need do everyday.
D: Write down the reasons of not doing the things that you have known you should do.
E: The happiness you got by not doing each of them
F: Write down all your pain and cost if you don't change your reality and aren't going to do each of them
G: Write down the happiness you can get right away once you take actions.

Success Diary (Day 1)
4 Steps to success (by Anthony Robbin)
1. Find out what do you want to achieve
2. Take the action right now (need focus on it, need 100% contribute to it to do everything you can)
3. Watching where are you in the journey to your success (Find out how far away are you now from your object, does it get closer or more far?)
4. Adjust your approaches but never stop, never give up. (don't just do it without considering if the approach you are using is right or not, one of the best way is to simulate those successful people)
Eg: A flight on the way from departure airport to the destined airport, it needs plenty times of adjustment to make sure the aircraft is on the right way and direction to the destination.
The past doesn't equals the future! All you need do it try a new way again and again until you get successful.
Eg: Baby never stops trying to learn to walk without any fear, it's why all the people in the world know how to walk.
Exercise 1:
List the two things that you wanna to do most but you haven't done them yet. Then do it right now without any postpone.

Hope's completedly gone......
Tonight is a night I should remember again, maybe. I formally proposed to seperate to QQ. The reason is we are too different and I can't see the future. She wouldn't do anything for me to get something changed.
She is still who she was, she has no coverage to change her habit a little bit for me at all. so why should I go for it? What's the reason? I even can't persude myself.
Game should be over ......

I was fulled by QQ again
A sms comes from QQ around 6:00pm today, she's pretending to ask my permission to have their infinite 'goodbye meal' while she has been waiting for the meal with Era and Allen (Era's Boyfriend, from a very rich family), but due to her nice attitude and happy mood, we had a pleasure chat and she asked me to wait her for going home together after she finishes her meal.
I once again spoke to her that "if you spend too much time with them while asking me waiting for her, then you would handle things to bad to me without considering me at all", she promised me "she would ring me immediately a few minutes before she finishes, and wouldn't be late for sure!"
I was really hungry but I was still happy to wait in the company, even I told every colleague that I was waiting for my GF. But you know how stupid am I after I ring Era's mobile, Allen picked up the phone and said "Era forgot her mobile in the car" be4 he knows the phone was made by me, and then he passed the phone to QQ, QQ told me "Era has gone home after meal", so it means they stay together separately again!!!
How stupid am I, How stupid!!!!! Why I'm waiting here???? I asked to talk to Allen, but QQ refuse to do that? I asked why she lied to me again and again, she answered "she doesn't know"...... I asked where are you now? she said "she was on the way home" and now, she told me to going home first......
I'm so angry, so worried, I don't know what should I do, what should I say, "am I going to kill Allen", "am I going to heavily hit QQ, a woman betried me again and again however I'm still wanting to stay with"?????? No, I shouldn't do all of them, I need be rational, I need think about if it's deserved to do that for that girl? I just wanna go home soon to catch them to clarify everything.
so I take the taxi immedieatly home, but again, I realized I was fulled by her again that she is not going home at all, she has gone to Glen Waverly with Allen.
What a bad girl, and how stupid am I..................

Michael said I need sell to the segment manager of TAAATs
After a short discussing meeting for the TEstBench, I left the meeting room with Michael, who then answered me "you need sell the benefits to Wayne" after I said "I'm not sure if TAAATs has the budget for the hardware".
I was shocked to hear that words from Michael whom I thought is only good at technique, but now I realised he knows so well how to sell himself to others, it's probably why he has been broadly recognized in the company as a radar expert.
What and how should I talk to Wayne? shall I wait for tomorrow to get sometime to think about it then speak to Wayne? Definitely, I know I need learn from Michael, I need sell the benefits of having the environment for TAAATs. so I think I should highlight the points that what can I and the environment benefit the TAAATs program and him. (Learned from Anzhi Chen who said that "if you want to get the chance to talk to or make a friend with a very successful person, firstly you need know what kind of services can you give them", that's exactly right).
I shared the Team/TCC plan about my personal development, the special trainings that TCC would give me, I show my interest and expertise in radar tuning activities to him as well, in a word, try to convince him I'm the right guy doing the tuning job for the program. Then I shared the benefits of having a customized TestBench environment. Then he happily promised to prepare the hardware for me and introduced me the activities he expect the radar integrator to behave. There are 5 aspects involved: integration, tuning, problem analysis and correction, training and flight trial.
It was a successful discuss I think which once again shows me how important to address others' interest in a conversation instead of the interests of myself.

BBQ at Khiet's home
It was a very nice BBQ, many good colleagues meet together and enjoy the delecious food with beer and jokes, can't find out any other better event than it in the past few months.
However, those issues between QQ and me are still there, and even worse due to the new involved person. she has got bored about the current plain and quiet life, she looks forward to new funs, she wants get some new feelings from others be4 got married. I know it, I know we're now in a very dangerous periods, but I don't know what decision should I make.
I'm really tire in handling such a case, but I know I can still keep going, but just don't know how to deal with it.
I think I need talk to Patrick to ask for some helps.
